The Big Bale Company was established in 1976 by John E. & Roma Rouse, Jack, Kate & Mike Moon & Ron Garrteson the first business location was at the One Bar Eleven Ranch located on Brush Creek just south and east of Saratoga, Wyoming off Highway 130. In 1980 Dick, Marion, Les & Ray Barkhurst purchased the Big Bale Company and moved it upstream to the Barkhurst Ranch. For 21 years the Barkhurst's steadily grew the Vermeer Dealership selling implements and parts to neighbors and ranchers across Southern Wyoming and Northern Colorado. Their largest concern was to customer satisfaction, by providing the very best in customer service and having a large parts supply available. In 2001 Ray along with children, Jenna and Dan, purchased the dealership and moved it to the outskirts of Encampment, Wyoming where 3 main highways intersect to allow easier access to thousands of acres of prime hay country and producers.Integrity and pride has been handed down focusing mostly on service but also parts availability. Ray and Family are committed to their customers by providing the highest quality service. With the major changes in equipment over the past 5 years we strive not to be titled as a "parts order house" by continuing to have one of the largest parts inventories in the Rockies!

In 2007 Big bale Company was given Vermeer's most prestigious Platinum Masters Dealership Award. Vermeer recognizes dealership by growth in equipment and parts volume sales, ratings in customer satisfaction and dealership improvements. The Big Bale Company is the only dealership in Wyoming, Northern Colorado and west of North Platte Nebraska to achieve this status and is a result of the Barkhurst Family's commitment to better serve our customers.
